National Service Scheme (NSS)
Not Me, But You
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Leela Devi Parasmal Sancheti Kanya Mahavidyalaya plays a vital role in developing socially responsible, disciplined, and service-oriented young women. Guided by the motto “Not Me, But You,” the NSS unit encourages students to cultivate empathy, leadership qualities, and a commitment to community welfare. The program is effectively coordinated under the guidance of Program Officer Dr. Vinod Deora and Program Officer Ms. Anamika, whose dedication and mentorship help shape the volunteers into active and aware citizens.
Throughout the academic year, the NSS unit organizes a variety of activities aimed at promoting social awareness and holistic development. These include cleanliness drives, tree plantation programs, blood donation awareness, road safety campaigns, health and hygiene workshops, and initiatives focused on gender equality and environmental protection. Students frequently participate in community outreach activities, working in nearby villages and urban areas to support education, sanitation, and social welfare efforts.
One of the most significant components of the NSS program is the annual special camp, where volunteers spend several days in an adopted village. Under the guidance of the program officers, students engage in developmental activities such as literacy campaigns, women empowerment sessions, sanitation improvement projects, and cultural interactions. These experiences help volunteers gain leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and a deeper understanding of rural life and social challenges.
Through the continuous efforts of Dr. Vinod Deora and Ms. Anamika, the NSS unit fosters discipline, cooperation, and a spirit of service among students. Overall, NSS at Leela Devi Parasmal Sancheti Kanya Mahavidyalaya stands as a strong platform for youth empowerment, community engagement, and nation-building.
